Terms

Director - A director orchestrates the artistic and dramatic aspects of a film. The role typically includes:* Defining the overall artistic vision of the film.* Controlling the content and flow of the film's plot.* Directing the performances of actors, both mechanically by putting them in certain positions (i.e. blocking), and dramatically by eliciting the required range of emotions.* Organizing and selecting the locations in which the film will be shot.

Producer - A film producer oversees all aspects of the making of movies. The producer is involved throughout all phases of the filmmaking process from inception to completion of a project. The producer schedules, coordinates, supervises, and generally makes sure the film is progressing according to the schedule.

Direct of Photography - Ultimately responsible for the process of recording a scene in the manner desired by the director.

Line Producer - A Line Producer is a key member of the production team for a motion picture. Typically a Line Producer manages the budget of a motion picture. Alternatively, or in addition, they may manage the day to day physical aspects of the film production, such as scheduling the scene order.

Storyboards - Storyboards are illustrations displayed in sequence for the purpose of previsualizing a film. A series of sketches, similar to a comic strip, which outlines the action in a scene and the angle of the camera.  The Story board artist will work closely with the Director & DP to map out each shot so that no time is wasted during shooting. Editor - A film editor works closely with the Director assembling footage into a coherent film. Film editors often are responsible for pulling together all of the elements of story, dialogue, music, sound effects, visual effects, rhythm and pace of a film. In the making of a film, the editors play a dynamic and creative role.

Musical Director: Works closely with the Director to choose and place music in the film that will enhance the telling of the story in the film.
