L.A. Works Makes it Easy to Volunteer in Los Angeles

We Salute our Project Leaders

Project Leader of the Month

Bryan Kadotoni

This month we recognize another of our newer leaders. Bryan Kadatoni was born and raised in Northern California before moving to Los Angeles to attend UCLA and study biology and computing. He now works for Allergan, a pharmaceutical company in Irvine and got involved with L.A. Works two years ago before finding "his perfect project" - Environment Conservation at the Ballona Wetlands.

Bryan originally started out volunteering at the L.A. Food Bank and got "hooked" on volunteering. He led that project for a while, and then expanded his involvement by co-chairing the Logistics Team for L.A. Works Day 2004.

One day he did a search on the laworks.com website to see if any of our projects affected the environment, which was an area of interest for him. He found our monthly project at the Wetlands and after volunteering for a month decided to "adopt" the project and lead it on a monthly basis. He now leads the project on the 2nd Saturday of every month.

The project is consistent with his love of outdoor activities (in his spare time he also goes to the beach, runs, plays basketball and golf, and enjoys "watching the Sacramento Kings beat the L.A. Lakers."

He enjoys doing his project outdoors and is "amazed and inspired by the amount of work that volunteers put in every month to conserve and revitalize the environment."

Bryan considers himself fortunate that he has a lot of free time on the weekends and can choose to do something more important than watch Saturday morning cartoons or sleeping late (though he likes those too!). He finds it invigorating to work with other volunteers, work hard, and make a difference in our communities environment.

Thanks Bryan for your continued commitment to the project, and by leading, serving as an example to our many volunteers.

If you want to help our environment and enjoy working outdoors, join Bryan one Saturday afternoon! Click here to sign up! Environment Conservation at the Ballona Wetlands.
