L.A. Works Joins Forces with the City of Los Angeles for L.A. Remembers
September 11, 2002
 

 

L.A. Works Volunteers assisted with memorial activities throughout the city on and in preparation of the September 11th memorial event.

SEPTEMBER 8th - 2:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Volunteers helped decorate the Memorial Wall with all of the September 11th remembrances donated by the citizens of Los Angeles.

SEPTEMBER 11th
5:15 a.m.

Memorial Tree Grove in honor of California Victims
Volunteers lit and held candles and handed out 1,000 carnation flowers representing the 78 Los Angeles citizens who perished on 9-11-01

7:30 a.m.
West Valley Community Ceremony
Volunteers handed out 500 carnation flowers and assisted with crowd control

8:30 a.m.
Tribute to the LAFD Urban Search and Rescue Team
Volunteers handed out 1000 carnation flowers and assisted with crowd control



11:00 a.m.
Moment of Silence
South Lawn of City Hall - Downtown Los Angeles
Volunteers handed out 6000 carnation flowers and assisted with crowd control

2:30 p.m.
Lighting of the Memorial Cauldron
