TeamWorks
TeamWorks is
a new and exciting program that seeks to explore the root causes behind
some of our most challenging community issues and stimulate a sense of
civic engagement. It
will build on our existing volunteer programs by providing you with opportunities
to deepen the experience of service and to create a sense of community
among our volunteers. At the same time, you will be equipped with the
tools to act collectively on the root causes of some of the most pressing
social issues that face our city.
Volunteers
will participate in hands-on volunteer service while learning about the
community issues and creating a bond with our nonprofit partner and their
fellow teammates. Our aim is to create better citizens – people who not only volunteer, but also understand why
their volunteer work is necessary.
The TeamWorks program offers volunteers the opportunity to make a slightly longer-term
commitment to volunteering. TeamWorks is an eight session commitment, two
times a month for four months. We ask that if you sign up for TeamWorks,
you make sure you are available for all eight sessions of the program. Dates
for this session are:
November
6th and 20th
December 4th and 18th
January 8th and 22nd
February 5th and 19th
TeamWorks
is a great way to make new friends, develop leadership skills, and have
fun while benefiting our community.
This year we have five TeamWorks sites. Click on the links below
